About the Competition

The Competition

The Nova Scotia CleanTech Open is a competition designed to find and fund high potential clean technology start-ups. The goal is to attract the best clean technology companies in the world to Nova Scotia, Canada.

The competition will have two rounds. Round one requires submission of an executive summary and round two requires submission of a business plan plus a pitch presentation.

A short list from round one will move on to round two. Short list candidates will be flown to Halifax to pitch their business venture.



Who Can Enter

To enter, you must be a start-up business venture with a focus on a new knowledge-based product and/or service in the clean technology industry. 

All entrant(s) must be the majority owner(s) (51 per cent or more) of the business venture and plan to work full-time within the business established in Nova Scotia.

The Prize

The winner of The Nova Scotia CleanTech Open will receive $100,000 in cash, $200,000 negotiable seed investment, mentoring, and in-kind business building services, including one-year free rent of turn-key space at the Innovacorp Enterprise Centre, 1344 Summer Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
